What is an Icon? A person or thing widely admired especially for having great influence or significance in a particular sphere. Ms. Patti Holmes was a powerful and beautiful icon for music’s power and beauty.

This Friday, May 10th at The Artists Hand the supremely talented “front porch swing” band Grist For The Mill will pay tribute to Ms. Patti Holmes in a special concert at The Hand. Ms. Patti was the Grister’s signature singer for years until her passing this January. She was a soulful voice for human kindness, justice, and for active resistance to hatred. The band will play their favorites from Ms. Patti’s oeuvre, and through some technical voodoo they will manage to bring her voice back into the mix.
