Description:

An authentically furnished 1860s log cabin at a site of an historic Civil War shoot out. The one-acre property includesa log cabin, a period shed containing a wagon, sleigh, carriage and thrashing machine. Bloody Knox: Troops marched from Philipsburg to Knox Township in search of Civil War deserters and draft dodgers. They surrounded the Tom Adams' log cabin at this site and requested their surrender. Deserter Adams fired and killed Union soldier Edgar Reed. Shots were fired killing Adams. Eighteen men were arrested that night at this place.
